Hello! I’m Afiz Lawal, a graduate student at Baylor University pursuing an MBA/MSIS with a focus on Business Analytics and Cybersecurity. With professional experience across IT Audit, Cybersecurity, GRC, and Operational Resilience, I am passionate about strengthening organizational compliance and mitigating technology risks.

My expertise includes auditing systems and processes, enhancing security frameworks, and ensuring compliance with international standards such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, PCI DSS, and GDPR. I have hands-on experience in risk assessments, incident response, business continuity, and IT governance for both financial and technology-driven organizations.

Beyond academics and professional work, I enjoy mentoring students, building portfolio projects, and researching the intersection of AI and assurance. My career goal is to become a world-class cybersecurity consultant and IT auditor who drives resilience in the digital age.
